The Primacy 5 is a summer tyre from Michelin that uses EverGrip Technologies to maintain performance for short stopping distances in the rain, even as the tyre wears. The Primacy 5 also uses an improved design for its grooves that are parallel to the direction of travel. They are 2.4mm wider than the grooves on the Primacy 4+, allowing even more space to redirect water. Michelin even designed a new rubber compound to maintain performance in the rain throughout the life of the tyre. The design of the tread helps the tyre wear evenly.
With the introduction of the Primacy 5, Michelin retires the Primacy 4+. The Primacy 5 will give drivers even more distance, up to 18% more, on the same set of tyres. The Primacy 5 will also perform even better in the rain with stopping distances up to 4% shorter when new, and 6% when worn. The Primacy 5 is available with XL construction that Michelin reinforces to help it carry heavier loads. All of the variants, including the reinforced XL, of the Michelin Primacy 5, are for sale at Tyres.co.uk.
