Kia Niro Tyres

The Kia Niro is a compact crossover SUV available with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrain options throughout its generations. Tyres on the Kia Niro should give you the convenience of handling both urban and longer-distance driving with good wet grip, response and control during braking, and a balance of comfort and quiet. Efficiency oriented tyres will also complement the Kia Niro’s electrified driving focus with ease of control and confidence when steering.

Kia Niro tyre sizes differ from generation to generation and across the range of trims, engines and factory wheel options. Therefore, there is no standard one size fits all. The existing tyres on your Kia Niro, the vehicle’s handbook and/or its registration will all show the correct tyre size along with the load index and speed rating. The correct tyre specification will allow the Kia Niro to perform to its best with respect to handling and braking.

Tyres.co.uk gives drivers of the Kia Niro an opportunity to shop for tyres that suit their needs, based on a comparative analysis of the available tyres by brand, price, and performance, all of which can be conveniently booked for local fitting. There is also an option to customise the selection based on the predominant mileage and preferred balance of comfort and efficiency of the driver.

No significant difference from the prior set of tyres. Changed them when they were about 2.5mm worn, whereas these new ones started with only 6.5mm.

Better traction of these tyres gives them better stopping distance. Previous tyres, of the same brand, had more than 2mm of tread, yet their stopping distance was clearly worse.

Choosing the Right Kia Niro Tyres: FAQ

Tyres.co.uk offers Michelin Primacy 5 or Bridgestone Turanza 6 in 205/60 R16 92H for the Kia Niro's current Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid variants. However, Kia Niro variants have different specifications for wheels. Once you've reviewed the registration, placard, and handbook, make your purchase.

Kia Niro tyre size and pressure information can be found on the tyre-and-loading label located on the driver's side centre pillar (opened driver door) and can be found on the driver's side centre pillar. This label shows what fits and what pressure is permitted. This must be confirmed with the owner's handbook as different variations of the Niro also have different wheel options.

As all Kia Niro models are front-wheel drive, no Niro drivetrain has an all-wheel drive requirement for a tyre match. Kia still advises the same type, size, brand, construction, and tread pattern on all four wheels. However, if this cannot be the case, then all four should be replaced. UK tyre safety advice is to fit this new pair of tyres to the rear axle.
