A summer tyre for passenger cars, Michelin Energy Saver+, is designed to reduce energy losses from rolling without compromising wet braking. The tyre features an Eco N Grip compound from Michelin. Here, the high molecular weight polymer is mixed with silica in the tread rubber. This helps silica bond via the rubber, thereby improving wet braking and decreasing rolling resistance. Another layer of the polymer, below the outer rubber, decreases rolling resistance of the tyre and energy loss from the casing.
The tyre replaces Michelin Energy Saver. At the time of its release, Michelin announced that the tyre had 20% more mileage than its predecessor. However, it has already been superseded by the Energy Saver 4. Hence, Energy Saver+ is the correct replacement for the existing tyre. Michelin Energy Saver+ can be found at Tyres.co.uk.
