The Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is a max-performance summer tyre that prioritises steering control on dry roads. Its asymmetric tread relies on different rubber compounds for outer and inner tread roles. For dry and wet grip, respectively, Michelin’s Bi-Compound technology employs hybrid elastomer and silica compounds. Additionally, FAZ technology uses aramid and nylon cords to wrap 0 degree cords around the tyre casing to retain its shape as its speed increases.
Some variations of the Pilot Sport 2 tyre display sidewall markings as Porsche N0 or BMW star marks. These tyres meet the specifications for these manufacturers and should be matched when replacing an original tyre. Additionally, some sizes use Michelin’s ZP runflat construction which supports the tyre and the vehicle momentarily after a loss of tyre pressure. We stock the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyre, including the ZP runflat versions, at Tyres.co.uk.
