Crossclimate 2 SUV Tyres description & features

The Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV is an all-season SUV tyre designed for wintry and cold weather but works well with the milder climate in the UK. It features a directional V-shaped tread with shoulder grooves that helps evacuate water. The Thermal Adaptive Tread Compound helps the tread stay flexible and creates edges for grip on wet roads with the help of the 3D SipeLock. The tread design clears snow away, assists grip, and helps by creating bite on slippery surfaces.

This tyre also dominates in the category of icy and snowy conditions and is designed specifically for SUVs. Michelin’s CrossClimate 2 SUV now replaces the CrossClimate SUV and brings along its V-shaped design and updated spilt tread. We have the Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV at Tyres.co.uk.

Comparing these to my previous tyres is tricky. My previous tyres were more suited to off-road driving. Looking at the Cross Climates, I can say I've been impressed with the Michelin performance. There's excellent grip with these tyres, and regardless of the weather, braking feels more steady and confident. Also, the ride is more comfortable as these are very quiet and handle bumps and the rough local roads with ease.

My last tyres were the original Michelin Cross Climates. After over 45,000 miles, about 5 years, and some careful driving, I was still pleased with the tread depth and road grip. The Cross Climates 2 do offer slightly improved fuel efficiency but are wearing quickly while still being excellent road handlers. I was disappointed to choose these over the best originals, but only time will tell. In my experience, they are overall worse as I am noticing bigger gaps in the tread, meaning less rubber on the road. Cheers.

My RAV4 has been in their care during all kinds of weather. While they sometimes do have issues with traction when I accelerate quickly, I would say I am satisfied with how they perform. I also have less tread wear than I anticipated which is good considering the vehicle is heavy and I have driven 15,000 miles.

If you're looking for all-season tyres that provide a great level of comfort, quiet operation and long lasting durability, these are excellent. I've fitted them to my fourth car now. We had a very stressful emergency stop on the German motorway when it was wet and they were exceptional. I wouldn't fit any other tyres! Outstanding!

The tyres make my Transporter T5 look awesome! I finally decided to buy some tyres after a long time of researching what would be best for all-season driving in Ireland. Since I fitted these tyres, I have noticed the driving experience is a lot smoother and more quiet. I also have not noticed any change in miles per gallon. These tyres have only been fitted during dry conditions and as such I do not yet know how they behave in wet conditions.

About 7 years ago, I had Michelin Cross Climate tyres fitted to my Seat Leon, and they travelled about 60,000 miles. This made me decide to get the all-season tyres again, and I managed to come across them for a great price. The Michelin Primacy 4 or 5 also looks great, and has an AA rating for fuel efficiency and wet grip, but unfortunately that's only for summer use.

I changed my old tyres for these ones sooner than I needed to because the new ones are amazing in cold and wet conditions. While winter driving is notoriously unpleasant for electric vehicles, and starting off on icy roads can lead to an electrics skidding, these tyres made winter driving a lot better.

The standard Hankook Ventus tyres provided by the manufacturer have been tremendously improved upon. Driving now feels like you are in a much more premium vehicle. Compared to the standard tyres, road noise is quieter, the ride is more comfortable and grip is much better.

They perform well in the snow and wet conditions. They are a bit noisier than expected on UK roads but it's still tolerable. They are expected to wear down faster if the road temperature exceeds 30 degrees. It's best to back off the speed.

Replaced the first set of front Bridgestone Alenzas. I've had good experiences with these tyres, especially for winter and wet grip. They stay balanced well even with the awful UK roads, and they can normally be repaired and rebalanced after a puncture. They last a long time; I had a set of four on an old car and after four years and 54,000 miles, I sold the car and the tyres were still in good condition and legal. They're a bit more expensive, but for the long-term savings it's worth it.

Over the last eight years, I have equipped my Mercedes GLC with the first and now the newest Michelin Cross Climate tyres. They have been great with all types of weather and have excellent grip. The driving experience is better due to the low noise they make. I highly recommend these tyres.

It is great to see such a huge improvement with the way the car drives. Now, it's a lot quieter, plus, is has even better grip in the wet and dry. I cannot believe how much better it has made my driving. The increased confidence and comfort the car gives is unreal. It is a bit on the expensive side, but all in all, I would say it is worth it. It's not just me either, two of my friends have done the same and are very happy with the result. Do I need to say even more?

I have been fitting Michelin Primacy tyres for many years. My first experience was with my previous work car, an Ambulance Response Vehicle. I saw how amazing they are, even with constant, severe usage. I have full confidence in these tyres. I have since had Michelin Primacy tyres fitted to my wife's and my Land Rover Freelander 2s. To be honest, I wouldn't choose another brand.

These tyres give me reliable grip and friction, no matter what type of driving I am doing, whether it be country roads, farm tracks, or snowy and/ icy conditions. It is impressive for me as I often tow a caravan and additional equipment. A small downside is the noise that the tyres make at speeds of 50 - 70 mph. When not towing, I do not have any noise from the tyres at 130 kph on the European motorways. However, the noise is quite dominant on the dual carriageways in Britain like the A34 or A40 where the speed is usually 45 - 65 mph. They also deal with bumps in the road and potholes very well as well.

There is good grip in the wet and even better grip in the dry. The eco Continental tyres might be a little quieter on some surfaces compared to some other. However in general a quieter ride is offered.

No issues at all. I have tested them in snow once where the grip faltered but it was pretty extreme with weather icing patches covered with snow. The fresh treads on the tyres could also be a reason for their good performance in the rain.

The CC2s did really well on winter trips and provided traction in the snow in the UK and in the mountains. They also appear to be as quiet as the original Conti Prem C. It's yet to be seen how well they will do in the summer and how long they will last.
