Steering is more direct and has better grip, while stopping is also good.

Better traction of these tyres gives them better stopping distance. Previous tyres, of the same brand, had more than 2mm of tread, yet their stopping distance was clearly worse.

3.00/5
As the fitter stated, the Avons began to crack at the bottom of the grooves at about 15,000 miles, despite having plenty of tread. I have now returned to Michelin Crossclimate 2, which I was unable to obtain previously.

The tyres seem to wear out at an average/European rate. The pattern appears to have more flex/movement in the actual tread, as if it's bending. They are good in the colder months, but I have yet to test them in any significant snow. Fuel efficiency has decreased slightly by around 2-3%.

Great to hear! I was instructed not to switch the rear tyres to the front on the Volvo, and the noise and vibration issues have really improved. I certainly won't be doing that again with this vehicle.

Buying Land Rover Freelander 2 Tyres: FAQ

Tyres.co.uk lists tyre options for the Land Rover Freelander 2 as the Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV (103V) and the Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV (107V XL) both 235/60 R18 which is a factory wheel option. Check that the right-hand B-pillar label and registration are consistent with the necessary load index, speed rating, and specifications before purchasing.

You can find the specification for tyre sizes of Land Rover Freelander 2 models on the tyre-pressure sticker which is located on the right B-pillar, next to where the driver's side door opens. The sticker contains information about approved wheels, tyres, and pressure. You can also check the sidewall of the tyre and use the vehicle registration to verify the original specifications.

Ideally, the Land Rover Freelander 2 will require four new matching tyres, although Land Rover allows replacements on an axle pair basis so long as they are the same type, manufacturer, and tread pattern. In four-wheel drives, all four tyres should have similar rolling circumferences; however, this does not apply to the front-wheel drive eD4. Any new pair should be fitted to the rear axle.
