Tyres.co.uk was built because buying tyres had become more frustrating than it needed to be. The price you see is the one you pay. The garage is one you choose. And when you need a person, you get one who knows tyres. That was the idea at the start, and it still is.

Buying tyres online should be simple. For years it was not. You found a price you were happy with, reached the checkout and found a different one, usually because the fitting had never been included, which nobody had thought to mention. The booking went off somewhere, and the garage you had chosen knew nothing about it. And when something went wrong, nobody would say whose job it was to put right. So it became yours.

Nobody buys tyres for fun. You buy them because you have to. The MOT tester has failed two of them, or the tread has worn thin with winter coming, or a puncture has found you at the worst moment, which is the only moment punctures know. Whatever brought you here, it matters. Your tyres decide how your car stops and how it holds the road, for you, your passengers and everyone around you.

So we built the service we wished had existed. The full fitted price appears on the first search, before you have given us anything beyond your registration, which is rather the point of a price. The garage is yours to choose, and if you already have one you trust, there is a good chance it is in our network. And a team here takes ownership of your booking from the moment you place it until the tyres are on the car, so you never have to chase anyone. None of it is clever. It had just never been done properly, which is a different thing.

Today there are more than 700 approved fitting partners across the UK, and wherever you live there is usually one you have driven past without noticing, possibly for years. Most customers pick a garage near home and a time that fits around their day. Some book near work instead. Some skip the garage entirely and have the tyres delivered. That suits us fine.

We run things the way a good family business does, where somebody knows about every job going through, but with the systems you need to cover the whole country. So we stay involved in every booking. We coordinate the details ourselves rather than handing them on. We keep watch on how each garage performs, and one that keeps letting customers down does not stay on the list, however convenient its postcode.

And when you need help, you get a person here who takes the problem on and stays with it until it is solved.

Most customers prefer their tyres fitted at a garage they already know, which we understand, since we would too. With more than 700 approved fitting partners across the UK there is a good chance yours is one of them, and if not there will be one close to home or work. You choose the time as well. Nobody rings afterwards to move it.

Your tyres arrive at the garage before you do, so they are waiting when you pull in, which is more than can be said for most appointments. The price you paid already covers the fitting, the balancing, new rubber valves and taking the old tyres away for disposal. There is nothing for the garage to add on the day, which is rather the point of paying up front.

In selected areas we can bring the fitting to you. If you cannot get away, or an hour in a waiting room is not how you want to spend a morning, a trained mobile fitter does the work on your driveway or in the car park at work while you carry on with your day. All it needs is somewhere safe and level to work. That is the only condition.

It is the same tyres, the same standard of work. It has simply come to you rather than the other way round.

If you would rather arrange the fitting yourself, choose mail order delivery at the checkout. The tyres are sent to your home, or to another address if that suits you better, with tracking updates, so nobody has to wait in all day for a van that arrives at ten past five.

That tends to suit people with a mechanic they have trusted for years, or anyone with a few vehicles to keep on the road at once, which is its own kind of job.

The Tyres.co.uk Team

No two people on this team arrived by the same route, and that was deliberate. Some of us built and ran online automotive platforms and publications. Some spent years on a workshop floor, fitting tyres and inspecting them. A few owned or managed garages, so they know what actually goes wrong with cars, as opposed to what the manual says should. A couple looked after national supply and UK logistics. And two people here do nothing all day except confirm that the tyre matched to a registration is the right one for that car and safe to fit. Between them, there is not much in the UK tyre trade they have not seen. So we do not guess. When there is a decision to make about a tyre, somebody here has faced it before, probably more than once.

If the site makes sense the first time you use it, that is largely down to Vithurs. He spent most of his working life in the automotive sector before this, building online platforms and industry publications and growing them into large ones, with a long stretch around high-volume repair centres and performance vehicle operations. That is where he learned how drivers really shop for tyres, which is not how the industry assumed they did. "Most people are on their phone at ten at night after a failed MOT," he says. "The site has to make sense to that person." Marketing and the customer experience are his, and he is particular about neither of them confusing anyone.

Most of the work that goes into an order's checkout-to-fitting process is done by Danny. He has spent most of his career near or in automotive businesses, including repair work and performance vehicles, sales and fleet vehicles, shops, garages, etc. This gave him a good understanding of what happens before a customer arrives to get fitted. Suppliers have to enter the right order. The garage has to book the right time. And everything has to match. "The customer should not have to worry about any of that." he says. "They should place an order, pick a garage, and should not have to think about anything else." Danny keeps an eye on all operations to ensure it's always running smoothly.

The hard part of a site like this is not the part you see. It is the vehicle data underneath, the pricing logic and the integrations holding everything together, and if any of that goes wrong, the wrong tyre ends up on the wrong car, which nobody notices until the fitter does. That is Dyar's territory. He has been building automotive digital platforms across Europe and the Middle East for a long time, and technical development here is his. "One registration can map to three tyre sizes," he says. "The system has to know which one your car actually has." It does, because of him.

Content & Editorial Coordinator

The Knowledge Hub has grown into one of the largest online tyre resources in the UK, and Chesca is the reason it stays accurate rather than merely large, which is the easier of the two. Content and editorial are hers, and most of that is the Knowledge Hub. When a regulation changes, the guide changes. When customers keep asking support the same question, a new guide appears. "If a driver reads a guide and still has to ring us, I have not done my job," she says. Getting the detail right matters more to her than getting the article out, which is the right way round and rarer than it should be.

Platform & Integrations Engineer

Most of what Lishan does is invisible when it goes well, which is the whole idea. He is a software engineer, and keeping the platform working is his job. Internal tools, third-party services, the workflows that carry an order from checkout through to the garage, all of that is his to look after. He manages the API integrations, keeps watch on how the system is performing and resolves the technical problems that would otherwise hold an order up, usually before anyone has noticed there was one. "If you have never heard of me, the integrations are working," he says. It is more work than it sounds.

An order placed late on a Sunday still has to travel from the checkout to the fitting bay without anything going astray, and things do go astray if nobody is watching. Anushan is the one watching. He oversees the order management systems and the communication with fitting partners, so bookings, supplier updates and garage coordination all pass through him at some point, whether they meant to or not. "A booking is a lot of small messages reaching the right place in the right order," he says. "One out of place and the customer feels it." His background is technology and systems coordination, and it shows.

Karl is on the phone for most of the day, and the person on the other end is usually a garage. He handles the day-to-day coordination across more than 700 of them, keeping bookings clear, communication accurate and problems resolved quickly when they arise, which they do, usually at the least convenient moment. Confirming order details, helping with scheduling, chasing a delivery that should have arrived by now. "The garages need to know someone here actually picks up," he says. It is not glamorous work, but it is a large part of why bookings go the way they were meant to, and why the garages we work with feel looked after rather than left to get on with it.

His background is business development and network expansion, and he stays close to fitting centres and distribution contacts after they join, so performance does not slip once the paperwork is done.
