Some BMW 5 Series and 6 Series with staggered wheels come with 245/40 R18 as original equipment. 245 is the width of the tyre in mm. 40 is the aspect ratio, meaning that 40% of 245mm (98mm) is the sidewall height. R18 means that the tyre is radially constructed and fits an 18-inch rim, giving an overall diameter of 653mm. The sidewall height of 98mm fits these cars perfectly.
