Mercedes E-Class Tyres

The Mercedes E-Class is an executive Mercedes range that is used to commute and travel on motorways with the family or for business on roads of the UK. Both Saloon and Estate models have more than adequate space for passengers and luggage, and most of the generations of the E-Class have included multiple body styles.

Mercedes E-Class car tyres are expected to offer wet grip and braking performance for all season driving to maintain composure and comfort when driving in urban areas and on long journeys. Touring focused tyres may be somewhat softer and more comfortable, but may also be quieter and more fuel efficient. Tyres that are the same size as the original equipment choice of wheels can help the E-Class to respond to driver inputs and maintain control.

For the Mercedes E-Class, tyre size is determined by the generation, model, body style, trim, engine and wheels fitted. Confirmation of the correct size and specifications can come from the existing tyres, vehicle handbook, or registration. Tyres.co.uk provides relevant information on tyres to help determine which tyres to order to place online for fitting.

Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 5)
Tyre review for Goodyear Eagle F1 (Asymmetric 5) 225/50R17
5.00/5
I feel great. The wear seems to be even and they have plenty of tread remaining. I was a little worried about having a hybrid because the batteries make it a little heavier.

Tyre review for Michelin Primacy 4 195/55R16

Better traction of these tyres gives them better stopping distance. Previous tyres, of the same brand, had more than 2mm of tread, yet their stopping distance was clearly worse.

I have been fitting these tyres to my Jag XF for some time and they have proven themselves. One night, on an unlit country lane with dipped headlights and doing over 50 mph, a cow appeared out of nowhere and was standing right in front of me! There was no time to react, so I swerved the wheel all the way to the right to dodge it, and then to the left to stay on my side. The car remained perfectly under control all the way through and the cow and my passengers remained unharmed!

Buying Mercedes E-Class Tyres: FAQ

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 MO and Michelin Primacy 5 tyres at Tyres.co.uk suitable for the Mercedes E-Class are 225/55 R18 102Y XL and fit the W214 and S214 models with 18-inch factory wheels. Make sure to double check the approved wheel-and-tyre combination, load index, speed rating, and XL construction against your vehicles registration and fuel filler cap guide before you buy your tyres.

The tyre size and pressure specification for the Mercedes E-Class can be found on the tyre pressure table located on the fuel filler cap. The table lists approved combinations of wheels and tyres. The current tyre sidewall and registration should also be checked, as the E-Class generation, wheel options, 4Matrix and plug in hybrid may vary.

Tyres for Mercedes E-Class models do not have to be replaced as a set of four. However, when replacing tyres, it is good practice to replace them in pairs per axle, and, if only two new tyres are fitted, according to UK tyre safety guidance, the new pair should be fitted to the rear axle. Owners of Mercedes E-Class 4MATIC models must maintain tyres of the same type and brand, therefore, if a complete set of matching tyres cannot be purchased, all four must be replaced.
