Mercedes SL55 AMG Tyres

The Mercedes SL55 AMG is a luxurious open-top roadster that is powerful, and requires tyres that can manage its AMG character, as well as its sophisticated ability to tour and its sharp road feel and feedback. SL55 AMG tyres can easily afford all of this, and also have excellent wet grip and braking, and deliver a comfortable and quiet ride for long journeys.

Tyres for the Mercedes SL55 AMG can differ by generation, trim, engine, and from factory wheel options, and so must be checked prior to purchase. The requisite tyre size, load index, and speed rating can be determined from the current tyre sidewall, the vehicle handbook, or vehicle registration. The right specification of tyre for the Mercedes SL55 AMG, contributes to optimum handling, stability, ride comfort and safety.

Tyres.co.uk allows for the Mercedes SL55 AMG owner to search for tyres of the appropriate type and specification (and compare them by brand, price, and performance) and allows the owner to purchase the tyres and set up a fitting appointment for the tyres to be fitted in a nearby location.

Pirelli P Zero

Compared to Michelin, it is significantly quieter and very good.

Still breaking them in but I'm already seeing less skidding on the damp roundabouts!

These are run flat tyres, and I chose to stay with the same brand as came with the car. They're not the quietest and could roll better, but your prices were competitive and the garage down the road did a good job fitting them.

Observed a higher amount of noise from the road when driving.

The Pirellis are doing really well. They are certainly much better than my last Continentals, especially at providing a more confident feeling at the front when it is raining.

Amazing grip from the get-go, no need to warm up the tyres as they grip almost as well as dedicated track tyres.

Since I've had them, it's been a little cold, which isn't the best to test them out. But, from previous experiences, they give me confidence in warmer weather.

Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2
Tyre review for Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 255/40R20
4.00/5
The tyres are great in any weather. Heavy rain also does not impact cornering and braking. I haven't tested the tyres in deep snow and based on the tread I would expect only average performance.

Because of their value, I have always chosen Dunlop sports. As a mechanic, I have worked with a lot of different tyres and these are by far the best.

The tyres are smooth, but I can't say how they perform differently since I always use this brand on my car.

Kumho Ecsta PS71
Tyre review for Kumho Ecsta PS71 255/40R17
5.00/5
Initially, the tyres were fitted during pleasant weather, and they impressed us with their grip and silence. They were much better than the cheap ones we had before. Now, with the cold snap, they are also handling brilliantly with ice, so we look forward to seeing how they will do when the snow comes.

Enhanced grip on wet surfaces and they are quiet.

Great traction on wet and dry surfaces and the tread holds up well. They could be slightly noisier than the Pirelli ones I had before, though the better performance compensates for that.

What Drivers Ask About Mercedes SL55 AMG Tyres

At Tyres.co.uk, Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 are offered as tyre options for the Mercedes SL55 AMG in 255/40 ZR18 (99Y) XL for front and Pirelli P Zero and Michelin Pilot Super Sport 285/35 ZR18 (101Y) XL MO1 for rear which are 285/35 R18 97Y MO on standard R230 rims. Please double-check the registration and placard, keeping the staggered arrangement.

Information pertaining to the tyre size of the Mercedes SL55 AMG can be found on the tyre and loading placard on the B-pillar of the driver's side door which is visible when the door is opened. Mercedes-Benz also places a tyre pressure sticker inside the fuel filler flap at the right rear side of the vehicle. Remember to refer to both stickers and the sidewall of the tyre since the approved fitment can change based on the wheel options.

Being a rear-wheel drive vehicle, the Mercedes SL55 AMG does not necessitate the simultaneous replacement of all four tyres. Furthermore, no SL55 AMG drivetrain variant has a requirement for all four tyres to be of the same tread depth. Replace tyres in pairs on the same axle, and keep the matching requirements across each axle. If two new tyres are fitted, UK tyre-safety guidance stipulates that they must be positioned on the rear axle.
