The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S1 tyre is an ultra-high performance summertime tyre, engineered for speeds at which the driver can begin to feel the limitations of summer tyre performance in both dry and wet conditions at the extremes. Thanks to Michelin’s Bi-Compound technology, the Pilot Sport 4 S1 utilises a specialised tread pattern with different rubber compounds for various road conditions. The outer tread has a dry gripping compound, while the inner side has a wet groove clearing silica compound. Dynamic Response Technology utilises an aramid and nylon belt to help maintain speed stability.
The Pilot Sport 4 S1 now sits above the old standard bearer, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport in the hierarchy of Michelin’s road-performance tyre range.
