The Michelin Alpin 6 employs EverGrip Technology and is designed to preserve and enhance snow traction, even as they wear down, by creating new grooves on the tyre surface as the rubber wears away. The Alpin 6 features a multi-layered tread design. The wear of Alpin 6 tyres allows the tread design to open and expand new channels to ease the escape of snow and slush from the tyre pattern. Directionally, the tread design guides water away from the tyre surface towards the outer edges. The tread design is also complimented with a pattern of slits, which create additional snow traction edges.
The Alpin 6 is the successor to Alpin 5 in the line of Michelin winter tyres. Alpin 6 is classified as a mud and snow (M+S) tyre, and has also met the snow grip standard, and thus carries the 3PMSF symbol. This tyre is designed for winter weather below 7 degrees Celsius.
