The Michelin Primacy 3 GRNX is a summer touring tyre that offers excellent wet braking. Michelin combines a rubber compound with a silica and plasticiser with a tread pattern that remains stiff when the tyre is under load. When braking on a wet road, Michelin’s AutoBlock technology uses sipes that self-lock, introducing a fine cut that opens on wet roads and braces the tread blocks. Braking causes the blocks to slow down and road forces to be spread across the tread, thanks to the blockage having tapered edges.
The Primacy 3 GRNX from Michelin is labelled ‘Green X’, a designation for tyres with reduced rolling resistance, and are environmentally friendly. Michelin’s summer touring tyre range replaced the Primacy 3 GRNX with the Primacy 4. The ZP versions have reinforced sidewalls, which assist the vehicle and sustain the sidewalls after a puncture.
