The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect DT1 tyre is a specialised summer tyre designed for both road use and track days. They’ve gone next level in their design and construction, allowing for live data to be collected regarding the tyres’ temperature and pressure when on track. Michelin’s Bi-Compound Technology applies two different types of rubber along the tread. The outer section of the tread is used for cornering, while the inner section has rubber to disperse water. Michelin’s Dynamic Response Technology employs an aramid and nylon belt beneath the tread to help the tyre maintain its shape during rapid directional change.
The Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect DT1 is designed to be used with Michelin’s Track Connect system, which enables dynamic data collection of tyre pressure and temperature. This data is transferred to a mobile application for real time analysis. The application allows for the collection of useful data to help the user review their circuits to establish optimal track conditions. The DT1 version has a road legal tread design.
