Product description & features

The Michelin Pilot Sport 2 is a max-performance summer tyre that prioritises steering control on dry roads. Its asymmetric tread relies on different rubber compounds for outer and inner tread roles. For dry and wet grip, respectively, Michelin’s Bi-Compound technology employs hybrid elastomer and silica compounds. Additionally, FAZ technology uses aramid and nylon cords to wrap 0 degree cords around the tyre casing to retain its shape as its speed increases.

Some variations of the Pilot Sport 2 tyre display sidewall markings as Porsche N0 or BMW star marks. These tyres meet the specifications for these manufacturers and should be matched when replacing an original tyre. Additionally, some sizes use Michelin’s ZP runflat construction which supports the tyre and the vehicle momentarily after a loss of tyre pressure. We stock the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyre, including the ZP runflat versions, at Tyres.co.uk.

Highlights

  • Asymmetric tread with dual compounds
  • Steering control on dry roads
  • Porsche N0 and BMW marked versions
  • Run-flat versions available

Tyre review for Michelin Pilot Sport 2 285/40R19 103Y
They give a lot of confidence in grip even in wet conditions and temperatures down to around 5°C. They are not too stiff so you get a good ride, while still giving good feedback through the steering wheel.

Great grip, very quiet, and nicely balanced. I replaced all four tyres at the same time to keep the chassis balance correct.

Tyre review for Michelin Pilot Sport 2 285/40R19 103Y
Since my old tyres were due for a change by age and not wear, I got the same kind of tyres. I have noticed improvement in ride quality and steering.

Tyre review for Michelin Pilot Sport 2 285/40R19 103Y
These tyres perform exceedingly well on dry surfaces and asphalt. They also handle well in the rain, but caution is advised. Sidewalls are pretty fragile, so even small impacts can create bulges and necessitate replacing the tyre.
