5/5Michelin Energy Saver+In my experience, I think the tyres are good for the weather conditions we get in Dorset (unless there is snow, in which I won't drive!). However, my problem is that nearly every time I have an MoT (which is every year), I'm told that one or two of the tyres have cuts on the inside and this is why I've failed the test. Even though I put money into the good tyres, they never last as long as they should. Is this normal practice, or is there some sort of trick here? Would it make more sense to get cheaper tyres that will need to be replaced more frequently?

As long as possible, I will try to not go to a competitor. Most recently, I purchased a set for our 66 Singer "Petula". I am unfamiliar with how the car handles on other tyres, but it runs great on these because I only know Yokohamas tyres since the full restoration.

4/5Michelin CrossClimate+I used to have energy savers, but now I've changed to cross climate tyres. I haven't yet had the opportunity to test them in extreme conditions, so I don't see much of a difference from the energy savers. But the cross climate tyres do give be more confidence.

5/5Kumho Ecowing ES31I bought Kumho Ecowing ES31s after one of my front tyres surrendered after I hit a huge pothole on a bad road in the New Forest. The old tyre did 15,000 miles and was already a replacement. The other front tyre was changed as well as it was getting slashed by sharp stones and flint on the gravel road I drive on daily to get to the main road. These tyres are brilliant value for money, offering great grip on both dry and wet roads. They don't seem to wear out quickly as the rubber looks long-lasting and the tread is still almost new after 4,000 miles. They are quiet for a tyre on the motorway and I have driven a bit more carefully and there was an improvement noticed with fuel economy, about 10-12 miles more per tank. Now I get around 485 miles for a fuel consumption of 40 litres of diesel, …
