RainExpert 5 Tyres description & features

The Uniroyal RainExpert 5 is a summer tyre that employs a directional V-shaped pattern with Shark Skin Technology to channel water and reduce aquaplaning. In addition, the RainExpert 5 uses Aqua-Twist Sipes to form additional edges when the tyre is in contact with the road. The tyre tread is designed for everyday driving during warmer months.

The RainExpert 5 replaces the RainExpert 3, and it is available in reinforced XL construction. This construction is intended for vehicles that require a higher load capacity. The reinforced constructions have a stronger tyre casing and are intended for weight limits as specified on the sidewall. Offers reasonable grip on dry surfaces, and excellent grip on wet surfaces. Due to the design of the tyre, you will experience significant lateral shifts after they warm up and you drive more aggressively. In terms of track performance, they underperformed in dry conditions because they didn't have the expected traction, but that's understandable. Given the price, these will stay on 14 inch alloys for very rainy days, and I will choose tyres with improved dry grip for my 15 inch alloys.

I have long daily commutes and I have used these tyres on my Peugeot 207 1.6 HDi and BMW 320d Touring. For the price range they are excellent value. The handling on both cars is great for the wet and they cut through standing water easily when flooded during the night. They also improve road noise greatly. The grip on the dry is also very good.
