Jeep Commander Tyres

The Jeep Commander is a large SUV that seats up to seven people. It is our belief that this SUV would benefit from a set of tyres designed to provide a smooth ride. We think tyres designed to optimise comfort to an extra large vehicle, reduce road noise, increase fuel efficiency, and improve braking on wet roads would benefit the owner on family road trips.

Tyre options vary by year, trim, engine, and factory wheels for each generation of the Jeep Commander. There is no universal fitment for this vehicle. Tyre options designed for the Jeep Commander must fit the approved size, load index, and speed rating. The owner's manual, registration, or the sidewall of the existing tyres can help the owner locate the approved size.

It is recommended that the owners of the Jeep Commander utilise Tyres.co.uk. This site provides the owners of the car a convenient way to compare options and provides a way to schedule professional installation at a location of their choosing.

The tyres were great, but unfortunately, the wheel alignment was out which resulted in horrible uneven wearing. We had to change the front tyres after only 9 months.

Jeep Commander Tyres: Questions and Answers

At Tyres.co.uk we have Michelin CrossClimate 2 and Goodyear Wrangler AT/ADV both coming in 245/65 R17. You can install these on your 2006 Jeep Commander if it came with 17-inch factory wheels. Keep in mind this is not going to be the same size for all Commanders, so be sure to check the load and speed requirements listed on the door placard before buying.

Info about Jeep Commander tyres can be found on the B-pillar with the door open. The placard will show the size of original tyres and load capacity, as well as the inflation pressure for each. Once you have the load capacity, you can then check the tyres you are interested in purchasing to see which ones you want to replace.

To be safe, it is good practice to replace all 4 tyres at once on a Jeep Commander, but you can replace in pairs if you'd like. Keep in mind that for 4-wheel drive models you need to replace all tyres to ensure equal size on all wheels so that the transfer case operates properly; you do not need to match all 4 tyres on a 2 wheel drive model.
