Crugen HP91 Tyres description & features

The Kumho Crugen HP91 is an SUV-focused ultra-high-performance summer tyre that centres on wet-road control while driving on the motorway. It features an asymmetric design with four longitudinal grooves on the tread. The grooves and tread design will help evacuate water from the contact patch of the tyre. The 3D block design will help the tyre accommodate the breaking forces and provide traction on damp surfaces. Coupled with variable length spacing, the design will aid in sound absorption. The K-Silent features help dampen sound even more by using a sound-absorbing foam layer that eliminates sound resonance before it reaches the SUVs cabin. It is also available in an XL reinforced version for higher load SUV applications. It is also available in the W and Y sidewall rating versions, which are rated for 168 and 186 mph, respectively. The Kumho Crugen HP91 is available at Tyres.co.uk in all versions.

Overall, these tyres are a good option. They are pleasantly quiet and have good traction in the dry, and in the wet, though not as good as the Uniroyal Rain Sports I had previously.

These tyres have reasonable traction in both dry and wet conditions. However, they make significantly more road noise than the Goodyears I swapped them out for. Considering these are mid-range tyres, I expected better performance than the previous ones I had. Would I purchase these tyres again? Most likely no because there was a vibration in the car even after getting the tyres balanced and I believe this issue is tied to these tyres because I didn't have this problem prior.

Brilliant. Even after a year on my car, the treads are still looking good. I always get Kumho Crugen HP1s for my car. The last ones I had did 40,000 miles and my mechanic was shocked. I guess it is a testament to my driving!

I bought these tyres in November and observed that they provide tentative grip in wet, cold, and salty conditions. When it comes to winter road stability, this is quite concerning. Perhaps they will be better in spring, summer, or autumn. For now, I am not very impressed with them on this vehicle.

The tyres were fine, although to be honest I haven't noticed much difference in performance amongst the brands I have had, other than the wear rate. The previous set I bought were cheaper due to Covid and the expected reduced driving, I ended up only doing 3100 miles a year, so I didn't prioritise how long they would last.
