WP72 Tyres description & features

The Kumho WinterCraft WP72 is a winter tyre designed for optimal grip on cold, wet, and snowy roads. It uses a silica compound that keeps the tyre soft below approximately 7°C. The asymmetric tread uses larger blocks on the outside edge. The inner section uses blocks with snow-biting 3D sipes. The WP72 has grooves that run circumferentially and channels that run across the tread pattern to divert water and slush away from the section of the tyre that is in contact with the road.

The 3D walls of the sipes interact to maintain block shape during braking, and flexing the tread maintains block shape. The WP72 replaced the WP71 in Kumho’s winter performance tyre lineup. It also carries the 3PMSF mark, which indicates snow-traction certification. An XL construction version of the WP72 is offered for vehicles with higher load requirements. You can find the Kumho WinterCraft WP72 available to order at Tyres.co.uk.

Tyre review for Kumho WP72 245/40R19
Bought winter tyres for my T6 Campervan as we were going to snowy regions and winter camping. Encountered snow, ice, thick slush and rain, and the tyres performed excellently without getting bogged down. I strongly endorse winter tyres as they make a huge difference in braking and handling when the winter weather is bad. All my four cars are equipped with winter tyres.

Tyre review for Kumho WP72 245/40R19
The tyres are fantastic. I do a lot of miles on the motorway and the rear ones did over 30,000 miles. That is quite an achievement for a powerful, rear wheel drive car.

I have only used them during the winter months, yet I have felt more secure with these winter tyres and front-wheel drive than I did with my 4x4 LR Discovery!
