Lexus RX 450h Tyres

The Lexus RX 450h is a versatile luxury hybrid SUV with the capability to support urban commuting, long motorway trips and family travels. Well-matched tyres for the Lexus RX 450h should provide confident wet weather traction and a braking response all while maintaining quiet and comfortable operation to further support the SUV’s well-mannered nature on the diverse road conditions across the UK.

Lexus RX 450h tyres in different generations, years and trims come in different sizes, so each trim requires its own specific fitment. The correct tyre size, load index and speed rating for Lexus RX 450h can be determined using the vehicle registration details, the tyre sidewall or the vehicle owner’s manual. Steering is more direct and has better grip, while stopping is also good.

Better traction of these tyres gives them better stopping distance. Previous tyres, of the same brand, had more than 2mm of tread, yet their stopping distance was clearly worse.

The tyres seem to wear out at an average/European rate. The pattern appears to have more flex/movement in the actual tread, as if it's bending. They are good in the colder months, but I have yet to test them in any significant snow. Fuel efficiency has decreased slightly by around 2-3%.

They are not as quiet as Dunlops and the wear is still to be seen, but they do have a better grip and are half the price.

Choosing the Right Lexus RX 450h Tyres: FAQ

Tyres.co.uk lists tyre options for the Lexus RX 450h as the Bridgestone Turanza 6 and Pirelli Scorpion Verde for the 2016-2022 model years with 20-inch wheels (235/55 R20 102V). Please confirm the registration is consistent with this wheel option and the load and speed ratings are the same or higher.

To find tyre information for the Lexus RX 450h, look at the tyre-pressure placard located on the B-pillar of the driver's-side door jamb, which can be viewed by opening the driver's door. The placard displays the factory tyre specifications, along with the load and speed rating categories, and the recommended cold tyre pressure for each specification. Lexus used to place the label in the glovebox of some older RX 450h models.

The Lexus RX 450h does not need all four tyres to be replaced; however, UK models come with E-Four all-wheel drive and Lexus stipulates that tyres must be of the same brand, model, tread pattern and similar tread wear. All four tyres must be replaced if replacing only a pair would break that rule; if not, put any new matched pair on the back axle, in line with UK tyre safety guidance.
