Honda Insight Tyres
The Honda Insight Hybrid focuses on fuel economy for everyday driving. The choice of tyres affects fuel economy, along with a comfortable ride on the motorway and a quiet ride with confidence in wet conditions. The Honda Insight tyres must provide comfort, grip and braking in wet conditions with economy in city driving and long distance travel.
The Honda Insight does not have a single universal tyre size. The various trims, engine configurations and factory wheel options across the Insight's generations all have different tyre sizes. Other models of the Insight should have the same tyres in the correct size, load index and speed rating, or else the handling and safety of the vehicle will be compromised. The correct tyres can be found in the vehicle's current tyre sidewall, the vehicle's handbook and/or in the vehicle's registration.

Tyres.co.uk offers Honda Insights with options for 16-inch ES/ES-T models that have an 185/55 R16 83V size and can be fitted with either a Michelin CrossClimate 2 or Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance. This size exceeds the Insight's factory 83T speed rating; before ordering these, check your registration and tyre placard.
The tyre and loading information can be found on the door jamb of all Honda Insights when you open the driver's door. The information includes approved sizes, load and speed ratings and cold inflation pressure, so you can check your wheel fitment with the information on the tyre label and owner's manual.
It is not necessary to change all four tyres on a Honda Insight. All the UK models from 2009-2014 are front-wheel drive, so there is no drive train version that requires all-wheel-drive. Tyres should be replaced in pairs per axle and to the same specification. This means if two new tyres are fitted, the UK safety guidelines say they should be fitted to the rear axle.
