The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 SUV is one of Goodyear's all-season SUV tyres designed with their Weather Reactive Technology. This technology changes the state of the compounds as the temperatures and conditions on the road change. The directional V-shaped tread pattern channels moisture away from the tread's centre. The thin slits in the tread are called Goodyear's 3D Waffle Blades. These blades aid in the tyre's dry road performance and provide snow traction. The SUV specific casing is designed to hold up to heavier loads.

The sidewall of the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 SUV displays the M+S mark and the 3PMSF mark. The 3PMSF mark indicates that the tyre meets the minimum requirements for snow traction and is certified for use in winter conditions. They handle well in all kinds of weather, but if I'm being honest, I think their best feature is how well they handle in the rain, even on flooded roads. They cut through the water and stay stable driving through even deep puddles on the passenger side. This means the car doesn't pull left so that makes driving a little safer. I'm happy.

They perform well in difficult weather conditions such as rain and cold. There has been a major improvement in aquaplaning resistance, particularly in the poorly draining parts of the M62. When it's warm and dry, they do not have as much grip as summer tyres, and they are a bit more noisy, yet they perform satisfactorily. At this stage, tyre wear appears to be reasonable.

You get great grip in any condition, though the ride can be a bit rough, the steering is not quite as good, and does not self centre (or return to centre) as easily as the original tyres. That said, these issue have got better with time.

The front tyres appear to be wearing down at an alarming rate, seemingly losing 1mm of tread depth every 2000 miles. Doing the maths, that means I'll only get about 14000 to 15000 miles out of them, which is not good at all for a premium tyre. My Michelins did 24000 miles.

Very good value for these tyres. Previously I always bought budget ones for about £50, and with prices now going to about £70 I thought I'd put a little more money into these tyres, about £85, and the difference is incredible. They're so much better in regards to fuel efficiency, noise and overall performance. All of it is quite noticeable. Not to mention, with about a 10% discount for buying four at once, you're barely spending more for a better product. If you can afford it, I would recommend going for the more expensive options instead of the cheapest ones.

Of all the all-season tyres offering the size 205/55R16, Goodyear is the one I go for. They have a decent lifespan, exceptional grip, and cornering no slipping. I use runflats and steering is decent for these, the regular version gives great handling. They do well for braking in both dry and wet conditions and also handle in snow well.

Here in Scotland, it has rained quite a bit recently and I'm sure the handling of the car has improved a lot. The usually dreaded potholes filled with water are less of a concern now. I go to a lot of older car rallies and have never had any issues with leaving the muddy car parks. A good purchase for sure.

I wanted to find a set of tyres that provide low rolling resistance as well as being quiet, wearing minimally, having good wet grip, and being able to handle some snow if need be. After driving them for 23,000 miles, I still have 6mm of tread left from the original 8mm. I drive gently, but these tyres are genuinely the best for my 2017 Mercedes 220d estate. The original Continental SportContacts wore down to 3-5mm and only let me get 22,000 miles, so I wanted a switch. Goodyear Vector FourSeason Gen 2, in my opinion, offers the best performance and value.
