The Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 2 SUV (K117A) is designed for high performance in summer conditions with handling characteristics built specifically for heavier vehicles. To achieve this, Hankook employs their High Grip Silica Compound and a casing specifically designed for SUV use. The tyre features the Aqua Driving Control layout with four longitudinal grooves that work to channel water and control the tread in wet driving conditions. A three-layer block design innovatively changes the shape of the tread blocks as the tyre wears to maintain the tread pattern throughout the tyre's lifespan.
The K117A was designed and engineered specifically as the SUV version of the Ventus S1 Evo 2 tyre, and the SUV version is equipped with a reinforced construction specifically designed for the greater weight and higher centre of gravity of an SUV.
