Ventus S1 Evo 2 (K117B) Tyres description & features

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 (K117B) features Hankook’s Intercooler Technology to control tyre tread heat, helping to develop ultra-high summer performance. The maintenance of the block shape during the tread life is aided by 3-layer tread blocks, which help reduce the wear of the tyre by keeping more rubber in contact with the road. To help enhance performance, a wide steel belt in conjunction with high-density rayon provides sidewall and tread reinforcement, help boost steering response.

The sidewall of some K117B variants feature the BMW star mark to show that they were made to BMW’s standards, and were not just sized to fit BMW vehicles. The Ventus S1 evo2 tyre lineup also features HRS runflat variants, which allow performance decay of the tyre without the vehicle being supported by the sidewall. I have been using these tyres for a year. They are not XL rated and I will likely go back to XL rated ones for better cornering like my old set. Many people with my type of car will not find this an issue but that's just my opinion. Overall, they do the job for everyday driving. I will certainly check if Hankook has an XL version. If you are unsure about this brand and model, they are certainly worth considering.

I decided to try these tyres after seeing good reviews online. They seem to tackle the 'understeer' you often experience with Audis by improving road feedback. They have good grip on wet and dry roads and wearing looks decent so far. Would I buy these tyres again? Definitely. Only thing is the rim protector could be bigger.

These tyres are exactly like the ones I had before. The rear tyres lasted 16,000 miles and the front ones lasted 20,000 miles. Considering that I drive the AWD Model 3 and usually wear out high-performance car tyres every 12 to 14,000 miles, I was quite impressed by this longevity.
