Tyres

Can I change the size of tyre I am ordering?

Adjusting tyre sizes

You can adjust your tyres according to size, but they must fall within the specifications from the manufacturer for the vehicle. Non-compliant tyres can be unsafe and illegal.

The right size matters.

Your vehicle's suspension system, braking system, speedometer, safety systems, and more are all affected by the sizes of your tyres. Mismatched sizes can cause:

  • Poor handling and braking
  • Inaccurate speedometer and odometer readings
  • Invalid insurance cover
  • A failed MOT test
  • ABS and traction control faults

Approved sizes

If you search by registration on Tyres.co.uk, we may show a variety of sizes. Any of those sizes are approved sizes for your vehicle and can correspond to different wheel sizes like, for example, 16 inch, 17 inch, or 18 inch. As long as your wheel choice matches the selection you make from our website, then you have no safety concerns.

If I want a size that is outside of the range, what then?

If your choice is outside of the range of sizes we show in our registration search, exercise caution. A non-compliant selection may be unsafe and lead to a failed MOT test.
