Van tyres aren’t just bigger versions of car tyres. They are designed to carry heavier and more demanding loads, so you need to pick the right ones.

What is unique about van tyres

• Reinforced sidewalls - Because vans carry more weight, van tyres have sidewalls that are more reinforced.
• A commercial C marking - In the size designation, they have a C marking (for Commercial).
• Van tyres have a higher load rating than car tyres of the same pattern

Note

Car tyres are totally unsuitable for vans. They will break under normal use because they are designed to carry car loads, not a full van load. For this reason, vans need to have commercial rated tyres fitted.
