Tyres

Should I invest in all-season tyres?

Are all-season tyres right for you?

Most UK drivers find all-season tyres easy and affordable for driving throughout the year. They are one of our most purchased products.

Consider all-season tyres if:

  • You live somewhere that has mild or moderate winter conditions
  • You want to avoid the cost and bother of buying and changing over two sets of tyres
  • You want cold weather grip better than that of summer tyres and want to avoid seasonal changes to tyres
  • You drive in a mix of motorway, urban and rural settings

When dedicated winter tyres are a better choice

When there are extreme winter conditions with severe snow, and if you regularly drive on icy and steep rural roads situated towards the north of England and Scotland in winter months, dedicated winter tyres are the better option. All-season tyres won't meet those conditions.

Cost comparison

All-season tyres will be a little more expensive per tyre than a standard summer tyre. However, they eliminate the cost of buying a winter tyre, twice a year fitting costs, and the cost of off-season tyre storage. For most UK drivers, factoring total cost of ownership, all-season tyres are the most affordable option.
