To ensure optimal safety and handling, all four tyres should ideally have the same load index. If you need to mix tyres, the higher load rated tyres should be put on the rear axle first to promote better stability.

Important rule: Do not ever put a tyre with a load index that is lower than what your car manufacturer specifies on any wheel position. A tyre that cannot support the weight that is imposed on it is liable to fail.
