Tyres

What are pneumatic tyres?

Pneumatic tyres

Pneumatic tyres are tyres that have air compressed inside them. The air inside supports the weight of the vehicle, absorbs the irregularities of the road, and provides the flexibility needed for grip.

Almost all tyres used on cars, vans, motorcycles, and bicycles are made using the pneumatic method. The alternative to this is a solid tyre which is used only on specialised vehicles like forklifts, certain lawnmowers, and certain industrial equipment where puncture resistance is of higher priority than ride comfort.
