Tyres

How do I tell if a tyre is developed for a specific car manufacturer?

Identifying tyres designated for specific manufacturers

Tyres manufactured for specific car manufacturers have a small code on the sidewall. Typically, this code is located near the size of the tyre, indicating which car manufacturer it belongs to.

Examples of manufacturer sidewall markings

  • * (Star Symbol) - BMW & MINI
  • MO - Mercedes
  • MO1 - Mercedes AMG
  • AO - Audi
  • RO1 - Audi performance
  • N0, N1, N2, N3, N4 - Porsche
  • J - Jaguar
  • VO - Volkswagen
  • LR - Land Rover
  • T0 - Tesla
  • HN - Hyundai & Kia

Position of markings

The location of the marking is often one side of the tyre, and is near the size.
