How do I read tyre pressure label stickers?

Understanding your tyre pressure sticker

Most vehicles have a sticker with proposed tyre pressures located on the inside of the driver's side door or occasionally on the fuel filler door.

What does the sticker tell you?

• Front and rear pressures - Recommended pressures for front tyres can be different than for the rear.
• Normal and full load settings - Two pressure values are typically given. Use the normal setting for day-to-day driving and the higher full load setting when you are carrying heavy bags or a full load of people.
• Units - Pressure can be given in either PSI, BAR, or both.
• Tyre size - The sticker may cite the specific tyre sizes to which the pressures pertain.

In order to use it

You can use the sticker by matching the tyre size to the one on your vehicle, then adjusting to the recommended pressures. Use the normal load value for day-to-day driving, but if you are going to load the car for a road trip or if you anticipate additional passengers, adjust to the full load pressure before you drive.
