If both tyres need changing

Yes, changing both tyres at the same time allows for balanced grip and predictable handling. This is the best practice each time both tyres require replacement.

If only one tyre needs changing

You can change just one tyre, but try to replace it with as similar a tyre as the existing one. Same brand is ideal, as front and rears are designed to work as a set.

Important

Never put radial and crossply construction tyres on the same motorcycle unless the manufacturer says it's ok. Mixing construction types can seriously impact handling and stability.
