How much fuel the tyre uses as it rolls. Graded A to E, where A is the most efficient and E the least.
How well the tyre stops in the wet. Graded A to E, where A is the shortest stopping distance. Each grade is worth roughly 3 metres, about a car length.
How loud the tyre is from outside the car, measured in decibels. Graded A to C, where A is the quietest.
Designed for cars, rather than vans, 4x4s or commercial vehicles.
A stronger sidewall lets this tyre carry more weight than a standard tyre of the same size. Marked XL on the sidewall.
Designed for temperatures below 7°C. Summer tyre rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip, while a winter compound stays soft and holds the road in cold, wet and snowy conditions.
Built to handle both summer and winter conditions, so the same tyres can stay on all year instead of being swapped twice.
205/60 R16 fits several family cars including some Nissan Primera and Hyundai i40 models. 205 means the tyre is 205mm wide. 60 is the aspect ratio meaning the sidewall is 60% of the tyre width. So, 60% of 205mm is 123mm. R16 means it is a radial tyre that fits a 16-inch rim. This gives it an overall diameter of 652mm. Family cars need that 123mm sidewall for some extra cushion on the rough roads. We have 205/60 R16 available on Tyres.co.uk, including XL and C versions.
