Rolling resistance has a direct impact on fuel consumption. A tyre's rolling resistance score ranges from A to E.
A tyre's wet grip capacity is expressed in Grades from A to E. The difference in braking distances between each grade is roughly 3m - an average car length.
The exterior noise grade of a tyre is expressed in decibels and accompanied by an external rolling noise rating - ranging from A (least exterior noise) to C (highest level of noise).

The Kumho Ecowing ES31 summer tyre improves fuel economy through reduced rolling resistance. The tyre retains wet grip thanks to Kumho’s High Dispersible Micro Silica compound. The tyre’s tread has 4 longitudinal grooves, creating a path for water to exit the tread. The blocks on the tread’s outer edge are reinforced for cornering stability.
The tread has fine slits for creating braking edges on damp road conditions. Water is further drawn to the tread edge thanks to the channels formed. The Ecowing ES31 replaces the Ecowing ES01 KH27 tyre in the low rolling resistance tyre category and is intended for use in ambient temperatures above 7 degrees Celsius.
