The Continental PremiumContact 5 tyre has been designed using Continental’s BlackChili compound to reduce braking distance on wet roads. The braking force is transmitted to the road with the edge of the tyre, and large linked blocks on the outer edge of the tyre preserve shape while cornering. The stepped treads on the PremiumContact 5 are referred to as 3D Edges by Continental and create additional edge grip during braking, while the longitudinal and lateral grooves aid in hydraulic removal of water from the tread.
The PremiumContact 5 was developed to replace the ContiPremiumContact 2 and was introduced with the claim of a 15% improvement of wet braking distance over its predecessor. Tyres with MO and AO on the sidewall are the Mercedes-Benz and Audi approval mark and were made in accordance with the respective manufacturers specifications. At Tyres.co.uk, you will find available stock of the PremiumContact 5 including the ContiSeal and SSR.
