Building a summer performance tyre with the emphasis on braking and steering on warm asphalt, the Continental ContiSportContact 3 uses a special BlackChili tread compound that creates a bond with the road surface when the tyre is heated and braking. Continental places macro-blocks in the outer edge of the asymmetric tread design. Linking the blocks, the outer tread assists in the transmission of cornering forces to the inner edge. Braking and steering stability is further enhanced with a channel running the depth of the tread, with cross channels on the inner edge helping disperse water from the tread surface.
The ContiSportContact 3 is the successor to the ContiSportContact 2 in the road performance line from Continental. The SSR version uses self-supporting reinforced tyre walls that allow the tyre to support the weight of the vehicle after losing pressure, for vehicles equipped with Continental runflat tyres. At Tyres.co.uk, we stock the Continental ContiSportContact 3, with the SSR runflat tyres.
