The VanContact 4Season 2 from Continental is equipped with a V-shaped tread to channel water away and improve traction on light commercial vehicle tread. It also features cold weather and light snow tread block slits for improved traction on cold and snowy surfaces. The casing is reinforced to allow for the daily wear and tear of stopping and starting as well as the unpredictable contact with the kerb that a full van might bring. The all-season compound is intended to wear slowly over time, even with stop-start driving.
The versions that are 3PMSF-labelled meet the minimum requirements to provide adequate traction in snowy conditions and allow for van usage in the winter months, as well as the warm months.
