Conti Eco Contact 5 Tyres description & features

The Continental ContiEcoContact 5 is an energy-efficient passenger summer car tyre designed with reduced rolling resistance. The ContiEcoContact 5 is built with a rubber compound and casing that expend less energy while rolling. Flat tyre contours reduce the deformation of the tyre and help distribute tread wear. The tyre has a series of longitudinal grooves that help drainage, and an array of slits in the tread blocks work as tactile features for improved braking performance on wet roads.

Within the same product range, the EcoContact 6 has replaced the ContiEcoContact 5. The ContiEcoContact 5 comes in various constructions and has Reinforced Sidewalls, which offer support after a loss of air pressure with the run-flat construction, and ContiSeal, which has an internal sealing layer to close tread punctures. New tyre due to old one getting punctured. The tyre is good on the wet surface, not too noisy and fuel efficiency is good. The tyre pressure monitoring system does pick up on low pressure when it gets cold, which is how it is supposed to be for tyres with TPMS.

Excellent on the motorway in torrential rain and lots of standing water. Aquaplaned very little and gripped the road more than expected. I have not really tested them in icy conditions but based on their wet performance i'm sure they'll be good. Definitely my top tyre choice moving forwards.

The tyres are fine, but I was disappointed to see they were from 2019. Given how much tyre prices have shot up in the last year, it was a bit disappointing considering the current price vs last year.
