Van Contact 2 Tyres description & features

The Continental VanContact 2 are summer van tyres focused on enhancing braking distance on wet roads and increasing distance travelled, or mileage, on each set of tyres. Continental has designed their VanContact 2 with a flatter tread profile to help with the type of work light commercial vehicles (LCVs) do. The silica compound helps with wet grip and lowers rolling resistance. Flat treads mean the VanContact 2 can help with the uneven wear that comes from the delivery stop/start nature of urban driving, as well as the long drives on the motorway.

The VanContact 2 is the successor to the Vanco 2 in Continental’s commercial range. Continental has designed the VanContact 2 to offer a mileage increase of up to 20% over the Vanco 2. The reinforced casing is designed for the daily rigours of delivery work which include consistent commercial loads, impacts with kerbs, and the heat generated from a high number of delivery work related trips. We noticed a significant improvement to the van's performance after the new tyres were fitted. The old tyres were and still are unreliable regardless of the weather and were new to begin with. I would suggest buying these for any vans.

The Continental Van Contact 200s are significantly quieter than the cheap tyres that were fitted to the van when I purchased it. They deal with bends very well in the rain, and wet road stopping distance is much improved. The tyres have very little sidewall flex in corners, which is impressive for tyres fitted to taller vans.

As far as I can tell, these tyres are doing exceptionally well, especially in wet weather situations. They also provide great comfort, and because of their low noise levels, great ride smoothness, and they seem to roll rather effectively too.

The material of the tyres is rather soft and wears down quickly. I changed the front tyres on my Ford Tourneo Custom at 12,000 miles, while the last set of Michelins lasted 42,000 miles.

These tyres seem to be a decent premium option. I didn't have the vehicle for very long and the old tyres were a weird combination, so they balanced the front nicely, just as I hoped. Reinforced side walls are a plus because with vans you often have to squeeze into tight spaces and bump against kerbs.
