The Continental ContiEcoContact 5 is an energy-efficient passenger summer car tyre designed with reduced rolling resistance. The ContiEcoContact 5 is built with a rubber compound and casing that expend less energy while rolling. Flat tyre contours reduce the deformation of the tyre and help distribute tread wear. The tyre has a series of longitudinal grooves that help drainage, and an array of slits in the tread blocks work as tactile features for improved braking performance on wet roads.

Within the same product range, the EcoContact 6 has replaced the ContiEcoContact 5. The ContiEcoContact 5 comes in various constructions and has Reinforced Sidewalls, which offer support after a loss of air pressure with the run-flat construction, and ContiSeal, which has an internal sealing layer to close tread punctures. Excellent on the motorway in torrential rain and lots of standing water. Aquaplaned very little and gripped the road more than expected. I have not really tested them in icy conditions but based on their wet performance i'm sure they'll be good. Definitely my top tyre choice moving forwards.

The Continental tyres we purchased are noticeably better than the last set we owned. The old tyres had not just got a bit stiffer, but we'd also lost the ability to notice some of the signs that indicate how bad the noise is when you drive. I also enjoy the noticeable drop in sound. I expect these tyres to maintain the same level of quality and performance over their lifespan. Tyres.co.uk is easy to use and I was connected to a nearby garage that I would recommend to friends. Does well in all areas. Provides plenty of grip when braking and cornering. Easily absorbs kerbs and potholes. May wear down slightly more quickly than some alternatives, but nothing too severe. A good option for all year use.

The tyres are fine, but I was disappointed to see they were from 2019. Given how much tyre prices have shot up in the last year, it was a bit disappointing considering the current price vs last year. My car came with Continental tyres and they did 51,000 miles, so I chose that brand again. Hoping these will last just as long, even if they are already three years old.
