Tyres

Should I change both tyres on my motorcycle at once?

Replacing motorcycle tyres

If both are worn

Yes, changing both together ensures balanced grip and predictable handling. This is the ideal approach whenever both tyres are due for replacement.

If only one is worn

You can replace a single tyre, but try to match it as closely as possible with the remaining tyre. Use the same brand and range if you can, as the front and rear are designed to work as a complementary pair.

Critical rule

Never mix radial and crossply construction tyres on the same motorcycle unless the manufacturer specifically states it is safe to do so. Mixing construction types can seriously affect handling and stability.
