This design utilises split block edges for traction on loose off-road surfaces, and connected sections for comfort on paved surfaces. Added traction is provided with the use of hexagonal blocks, and open channels within the tread assist in the removal of mud and stones. Bridgestone claims this tyre incorporates a new tread compound which assists in improving the performance of the tyre in the wet, and improves the durability of the tyre on rough, unpaved surfaces.
Bridgestone claims this tyre exhibits a 40% improvement in tread wear, and a 5% improvement in both wet and dry braking over the previous model, the Dueler A/T 001. This tyre also bears the 3PMSF and M+S symbols meaning that this tyre is certified for use in snowy conditions and in off-road and/or muddy road conditions.
