The Pirelli Scorpion Elect is a green summer tyre for electric and hybrid plug-in SUV models. With large grooves, this tyre makes channels on the face of the tyre which help get rid of water for superior braking performance on wet surfaces. This tyre reduces noise and vibrations due to the reinforced construction, while the ELECT technology of Pirelli minimises road resistance to save battery life.
According to Pirelli, due to the trade-off of low rolling resistance, this technology could extend the range of the electric vehicle up to 10%.
