Citroen DS5 Tyres

With its unique five-door design, Citroen DS5 tyres must meet the demands of both daily and longer distance driving. In the variable conditions of the UK, Citroen DS5 tyres must deliver performance and comfort with effective grip and braking and low noise, and must also offer efficiency with low rolling resistance and responsiveness to give good steering feel.

Citroen DS5 tyres must be fitted according to the right size and load index and the correct speed rating to suit each model generation, engine and trim. Citroen DS5 tyres can easily be identified by checking the existing tyres, the vehicle’s handbook, or vehicle registration.

Drivers of the Citroen DS5 are helped by the website Tyres.co.uk. This not only allows a range of tyres to be compared, based on performance, and brand and price, but it also allows the booking of fittings to be carried out locally.

Steering is more direct and has better grip, while stopping is also good.

Better traction of these tyres gives them better stopping distance. Previous tyres, of the same brand, had more than 2mm of tread, yet their stopping distance was clearly worse.

Initially, the tyres were fitted during pleasant weather, and they impressed us with their grip and silence. They were much better than the cheap ones we had before. Now, with the cold snap, they are also handling brilliantly with ice, so we look forward to seeing how they will do when the snow comes.

Great traction on wet and dry surfaces and the tread holds up well. They could be slightly noisier than the Pirelli ones I had before, though the better performance compensates for that.

The existing tyres are doing an adequate job but my expectations for how long the front tyres would last were higher. Most of my driving is local, and there are a lot of roundabouts in this area.

They are beautiful tyres, and they help me to be confident and calm when driving. If only the roads were built to the same standard!

Avon ZV7 tyres provide excellent performance on the wet country roads and the rainy weather where I drive. They help with fuel economy and last a long time before needing to be changed. I feel confident driving on them and plan to put them on the back of my car soon. They are great value for a mid-range tyre.

Citroen DS5 Tyres: Help and Advice

Tyres.co.uk has Citroen DS5 tyres available with a Michelin Primacy 5 or Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 in size 225/50 R17 98 XL. Both can be used for 17-inch factory fitments, with the Michelin being Y-rated and the Goodyear W-rated. Check the load and speed rating of the specification before purchasing as this can vary between DS5 models.

The tyre information for the Citroen DS5 can be found in the tyre and paint label on the centre pillar / B-pillar of the driver’s side, which is visible when the door is opened. This carries the approved tyre sizes, the load and speed ratings and the cold inflation pressure for both normal and maximum loads.

The Citroen DS5 has the option to change individual tyres instead of changing the whole set of four. When changing tyres, remember to change in pairs and as matching as possible. On the Hybrid4 model, the front axle is driven by the diesel engine and the rear by an electric motor. Because there is no mechanical link making it necessary to change all four, fit new tyres to the rear axle.
