The Yokohama BluEarth Van RY61 takes into account the unique requirements of thermally moderated summer use and the demands of urban delivery and distribution work. This includes frequent starting and stopping from moderate speeds and the effects of cumulative motorway mileage on commercial vehicles (light and otherwise). Because of the demands of this kind of work on the structural integrity of the tyre, the Van RY61 is designed with a reinforced structure. The BluEarth compound enables lower rolling resistance. The tread design has a flat profile to aid wear leveling across the tread surface. The outer edge tread blocks are designed to make contact with the kerb to accommodate changing load conditions during typical van operation.
Yokohama designed the RY61 to be ideal use for both urban and inter-urban light commercial work. The summer of the compound indicates that the Van RY61 is best suited to working conditions of approximately 7 degrees Celsius and above. The lowered rolling resistance of the Van RY61 also places an emphasis on economy of operation during the mileage accumulated during the working life of the tyre.
