Focusing on precise control while cornering and maintaining traction on wet surfaces, the Yokohama advan sport A349 uses a specially designed silica tread pattern that pushes water away from the driving surface. The A349 uses a tread pattern with intersecting grooves to give water a place to go, and a few dozen micro slits across the surface act as additional edge grabbing surfaces when the A349 is on a wet driving surface. The internal casing is designed to help maintain stability of the A349 at high performance driving.
Yokohama designed the A349 as an original equipment tyre for some Mazda 6 model trims, making it a tyre that is a good fit when replacing factory specification tyres. This tyre is a summer performance tyre, meaning it is designed for driving and performance in places with a driving temperature of greater than approximately 7 degrees Celsius.
