Ford Capri Tyres

The Ford Capri has undergone expansive evolution, from the traditional rear-wheel-drive sporty coupé to the contemporary electric crossover, so replacement tyres should be customised to the actual car rather than the nameplate. Ford Capri tyres should have reliable grip, braking and steering for regular use and should also provide comfort, low audible road noise, and quick steering for extended journeys.

Different generations and models of the Ford Capri have differing tyre sizes. The right fit can be verified using the sidewall of the existing tyre, the owner's manual, or through the car's registration. Ford Capri tyres should have the correct load index and speed ratings, as missing these would compromise handling, comfort and safety. It is also possible that some tyres, designed with the emphasis on efficiency, may be suitable for the electric versions of the Ford Capri.

Drivers of the Ford Capri are able to look for the right tyres, as per their availability, pricing, specs and local fitting options, through the Tyres.co.uk platform.

Due to the reasonable price and load capacity, I fitted them on a twin-axle caravan. I can't comment on durability just yet, but so far, so good.

I am considering replacing them, even though it will be expensive, that's how bad I feel. It is just inaccurate. Forum users mentioned that my car would handle a lot better with this make and model, but that is just not true.

I purchased these tyres for my Ifor Williams trailer, and although I've only done about 200 miles with them, they have been good so far.

Country roads in the Scottish highlands can be a bit of a challenge. However, I think I've solved most problems with my new tyres. They're so much better for cornering and braking, especially when it's raining, and they feel grippy enough to hold on to the road. I've also noticed that my car handles a lot better, and the tyres didn't break the bank either. I am very pleased with my decision.

Ford Capri Tyres: Everything You Need to Know

Tyres.co.uk recommends the Pirelli Cinturato CN36 and Blockley Radial for Ford Capri Mk1 and Mk2 1300, 1600 GT and 2000 GT models. Capris have radial tyres, so also look at the registration, wheel fitment, load index and speed rating.

All tyres installed on Ford Capris have their tyre size embossed on the sidewall. Classic Ford Capris built between 1969 and 1986 do not have a placard with the listed tyre size, but do have the original tyre sizes and pressures in the owner’s manual. You may want to compare that to the fitted wheels as many Capris have been modified.

The Ford Capri does not require all four tyres to be replaced at the same time. Since the Capri is a rear-wheel drive model, no factory driven-wheel version requires a four-tyre match. Tyres can be replaced by axle pairs; when fitting two new tyres, UK safety advice is to put them on the rear axle.
