Tyres.co.uk recommends the Pirelli Cinturato CN36 and Blockley Radial for Ford Capri Mk1 and Mk2 1300, 1600 GT and 2000 GT models. Capris have radial tyres, so also look at the registration, wheel fitment, load index and speed rating.
All tyres installed on Ford Capris have their tyre size embossed on the sidewall. Classic Ford Capris built between 1969 and 1986 do not have a placard with the listed tyre size, but do have the original tyre sizes and pressures in the owner’s manual. You may want to compare that to the fitted wheels as many Capris have been modified.
The Ford Capri does not require all four tyres to be replaced at the same time. Since the Capri is a rear-wheel drive model, no factory driven-wheel version requires a four-tyre match. Tyres can be replaced by axle pairs; when fitting two new tyres, UK safety advice is to put them on the rear axle.
