Ecomax Tyres description & features

The Infinity Ecomax is a low-cost summer passenger tyre designed to remove water from wet roads thanks to the wide circumferential grooves. A ribbed centre provides stability to the tyre in straight line driving, while the outer incorporated blocks provide stability of the tyre in bending and lane changing.

The construction of the Ecomax is designed to provide stability to the tread in the wear phase assuming the summer tyre is used in the appropriate temperature range (above 7 degrees Celsius) and assuming the tyre is properly inflated and the wheel alignment is correct. Its block layout helps to minimise the noise generated by the tyre in the urban driving and cruising speed ranges. Tyres.co.uk is an online retailer of the Infinity Ecomax.

Highlights

  • Wide grooves for water removal
  • Ribbed centre for straight driving
  • Block layout reduces road noise

While it may be premature to reach a verdict, they seem to be handling the early challenges of road performance quite well. They perform well in wet conditions and appear to be well versatile performers.

These tyres have dealt with everything the British winter can throw at them. I haven't tested them in snow yet but with my car being automatic, I would probably avoid snowy roads anyway.

I understand the speculation surrounding these tyres, but having done just 8,000 miles in one year, I'm down to 3mm tread left. At this rate, I will be looking to replace them soon. Compared to the last Bridgestone Duelers I had, which did 25,000 miles, these tyres have not held up well. I will most likely be going back to Bridgestone. Just to clarify, these were the rear tyres on a BMW X5, which is notorious for being tough on tyres, but I was expecting around 15k miles or something closer to the Bridgestones.

These tyres do enhance fuel efficiency relative to my former Kumhos, however, the front end handling and grip don't seem to be as good. They are not bad, just not as good as when making tight turns.

Tyre review for Infinity Ecomax 215/55R16
When it was time to buy new front tyres for my car, I had no money. On top of that, our family car also needed two new tyres. I had to buy premium tyres for the family car, which left me with nothing for my own car. This meant I had to get cheaper options, the Infinity tyres. They don't have as good of a grip as others in the wet, but they are supposed to be a bit better in the dry. I've done 8000 miles with them, and they'll have to be replaced at around 10,000 miles. I hope next time I can spend money on the original Bridgestones again. But if money is tight again and I need something to make my car safe to drive, I would choose the Infinity tyres again.

The job the tyres are doing is commendable. There is an absence of extra noise and handling in both dry and wet weather is a cinch (I'm not a speed demon!). The tread also appears to be lasting well.

Tyre review for Infinity Ecomax 225/50R16
These are the best tyres I've purchased to date. For all-rounders, these have gone above and beyond what I expected when I purchased them. I was so impressed I bought another pair to put on my project car, a 2007 Ford Fiesta S. For my daily car, a Ford EcoSport, I do a lot of motorway driving with nearly 28,000 miles on these tyres and I am still doing well. I will be changing the two front ones before the MOT in March.

Tyre review for Infinity Ecomax 215/45R16
Car - 2003 Mini Cooper S (R53). When purchasing the vehicle, it had Falken tyres with about 3mm tread left, mounted on 17 inch wheels. Given the poor quality of the roads in the UK, I decided to switch to 16 inch alloys and slightly wider tyres which have a greater vertical sidewall dimension (higher sidewall) to help them absorb more bumps. After making this change, the car feels much better on the road, while still retaining all its original handling. It feels more planted and secure on the drier roads. The only downside I have found is that in very wet conditions, they can tend to lose grip if you put your foot down. Other than that, I would choose these tyres again and again for the lifespan of the car.
