Audi Quattro Tyres

Audi Quattro is a historic four-wheel-drive coupé produced across multiple years and engine variants. Based on its intended use and the context of road and classic-car journeys, its tyres should provide excellent steering, grip, and braking. As an all-wheel-drive vehicle, the Quattro should ideally have the same type of tyres all across the vehicle for optimum balance and handling.

Due to the differences in production years and engine variants in addition to factory-wheels options, tyre size for Audi Quattro cannot be the same for every vehicle. The right size, load index, and speed rating can be found using the existing tyre sidewall, the vehicle handbook, or registration details. Making sure to adhere to the specifications for Audi Quattro tyres will achieve safe handling and ride comfort for the intended use and performance of the vehicle.

Tyres.co.uk helps Audi Quattro owners find the right tyres by facilitating a local fitment comparison based on brand, price, and performance. Through this comparison, owners can select the right fitment for Quattro tyres considering preferences for grip, stopping distance, ride comfort, road noise, and overall handling.

Steering is more direct and has better grip, while stopping is also good.

Better traction of these tyres gives them better stopping distance. Previous tyres, of the same brand, had more than 2mm of tread, yet their stopping distance was clearly worse.

They perform well in all weather conditions, and they in particular excel in rainy weather.

While I would recommend them, I would advise caution in the wet as they can skid. On the dry however, they are fantastic.

I do not think these tyres perform well and am surprised at them being marketed as suitable for track days. There was little grip and at Brands Hatch the tyres squealed on a dry surface. I went to Snetterton today where the conditions were wet to dry and I almost decided to call it a day because the tyres were not worth it. I think they are only fit to be summer road tyres. I am really disappointed by them.

In dry conditions, perform brilliantly. When wet, proceed with caution.

I feel great. The wear seems to be even and they have plenty of tread remaining. I was a little worried about having a hybrid because the batteries make it a little heavier.

The tyres are excellent. However, the price has increased quite a lot. A nail went through the tread within a week. I will still choose Tyres.co.uk in the future.

Audi Quattro Tyres: Common Questions

Audi Quattro tyre options at Tyres.co.uk include the Michelin Primacy 3 DT and Bridgestone Turanza T005 in 205/60 R15 for 1980-83 cars originally fitted with this size. Confirm the tyre's load index and speed rating against the fuel-filler-flap placard and handbook before ordering.

Inside the rear-right wing fuel-filler flap, Audi Quattro tyre sizes are displayed on the tyre-pressure and tyre-information sticker. The sticker contains cold pressures and approved fitments; due to the possibility of non-original wheels being fitted to many surviving cars, verify against the tyre sidewall and handbook.

The Audi Quattro does not require four new tyres to be purchased. However, its fully integrated four-wheel drive system does require that all four tyres closely match (in terms of size, construction, rolling circumferences, and tread depth). Always replace all four tyres if a matching pair cannot be maintained. When replacing two tyres, the recommendation per UK tyre safety standards is to place the new tyres on the rear axle.
